Once at Vienna there is definitely a place you should visit if you are hungry. Figlmüller Restaurants are famous for “legendary” stakes from pork “the Schnitzel” with more than 110 years tradition. The first opened Figlmüller is located on Wollzeile, right behind St. Stephen’s Cathedral. From the start it stood for the unparalleled Viennese way of life.
Although, one can now choose between four restaurants of “Figlmüller Group”, we decided to visit the “original”, opened in 1905. All we can say about it is that it was more than worth. The stakes tastes as promised, crispy and tender, I tried the turkey version and it was tasteful as well. My advice is not to forget to taste their salad as well. They are really, really good (potato,…) and made with best and fresh ingredients. Prices are reasonable, meal for two, with one big salad and drinks will cost you around 50 EUR.
The restaurant is definitely worth a visit when you come to Vienna, although we strongly recommend to make a reservation beforehand (https://www.figlmueller.at/en/) if you want to get a table in the time of lunch or dinner. The restaurant is mostly full and you’ll be directed to the next Figlmüller around the corner.
