Austria Trend Parkhotel Schonbrunn is located only few walking minutes away from the underground station Hietzing. The hotel is situated close to the entrance to the Schönbrunn Zoo and the large park of Schönbrunn. Hotel was primary Guesthouse for the guests of Franz Joseph and later taken over by Ferdinand Dommayer, who transformed it into an Inn. Nowadays, this is a beautiful renovated hotel with the charm of the Imperial Vienna.
The hotel is easy to reach and is located at the Hietzinger Hauptstr. 10-14, 1130 Vienna, Austria. If you arrive by public transport, use U4 – station Hietzing. There are tram station at your disposal – lines: 51A, 56A, 56B, 58A, 60. as well as Parkhouse just before the Hotel entrance.
We enjoyed the stay there. The hotel has his own imperial charm the rooms are big and comfortable. We had a room to the garden of the hotel and it was fantastic. Looking through the windows you can steel feel the “old charm” of Vienna, with big trees and stillfulness. The rooms follow the style of the hotel, which gets you back in the imperial century. The stuff is very friendly and helpful. The dining room is big and was then a bit crowded in the morning, but the friendly stuff is always there to get you anything you need. The breakfast is good with a lot of variety to choose from. It made an impression.
For those who’d like confortability as well as old Vieniesse “spirit”.
Vienna Zoo – Tiergarten Schönbrunn is as the name says suited in the Schönbrunn palace. Part of the imperial summer residence of Schönbrunn, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s oldest zoo is absolutely an adventure to see. In order to reach the main entrance to the zoo please use the park entrance gate „Hietzinger Tor“. If you are travelling by public transport, the zoo can be reached by the following routes: U4 (underground): Station Hietzing, Tramway: 10, 58, 60 and Bus: 10A, 51A, 56A, 56B, 58A. The Zoo is open daily from 9 a.m. 365 days a year. Closing time varies according to the seasons and is between 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The ticket office closes 30 minutes before closing time. From A as in anteater to Z as in zebra: A visit to the Schönbrunn Zoo is a tour through every continent in the fascinating world of animals. See giant pandas, Siberian tigers, orangutans, and elephants, or immerse yourself in the Amazon and experience the tropical rain forest. A visit to the zoo offers young and old alike an enjoyable vacation in an incomparable setting and interesting insights into our nature and species conservation work.
For us it was a family trip. Our little one enjoyed the little wagon the most although the zoo offers a variety of playgrounds for the kids. The wagon can be borrowed in the zoo, therefore is also a caution to pay, which you get back by returning the wagon. As there are so many animals there we absolutely enjoyed to stay there almost a half of the day. As said it really is enjoyable for young and old alike.
If you are a fan of classical music is undoubtedly a unique experience visiting one of the many classical concerts, which are daily offered in Vienna. At the website http://www.viennaconcerts.com you can find a wide selection of various concerts and operas in Vienna.
We decided to go for a concert in Orangery at Schönbrunn. On the program was a concert of classical music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Strauss family. The Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra Vienna attaches great importance to Viennese-style interpretation of the pieces it plays and excels in interpreting the works of classical Viennese composers and Viennese music with a subtle and individual touch, always adding that „Viennese“ note. Concert is held at the Schönbrunn complex in the Orangery, which is accessible from Schönbrunner Schlossstrasse.
For us it was an unforgettable experience. Special atmosphere of Orangery and hall acoustics are memorable. In the style of Viennese school is also the reception on arrival at the concert. Special wardrobe for the concert is not required and so at the concert you can see different styles of dresses, from evening wear to sportswear. The concert is really special with that Viennese charm, conductor interacts with the audience and a special intermezzo is a ballet performance while playing classical works of Viennese composers. Definitely worth a visit.
As a starting point for choosing this hotel was our visit to the famous Schönbrunn, to be more specific, a concert of classical music at its famous Orangerie, “winter Garden” built in 1754.
Hotel HB1 is situated only 10 minutes of walk through the pleasant environment of the local Auer-Weißbach parka from a Schönbrunn Palace. Closest public transportation station Johnstraße / Linzerstrasse (tram) is in immediate vicinity, while the nearest subway station is near palace Schönbrunn (U4 – Schönbrunn) or (U3 – Johnstraße).
The hotel has bright and modernly furnished rooms with parquet floors. Rooms are equipped with shower cabin with large shower. Hotel offers free wi-fi, signal coverage is ok in rooms as well. We were accommodated in a room with access to the terrace.
Hotel has its own parking garage in the underground floors, with approximately 45 parking places. They are “Viennese” narrow and will take you some maneuvering, but garage used possible space wisely. I recommend you to book the garage together with the room, as you can get special discount offer and park cheaper than if you pay upon your arrival.
What we experienced as a pleasant surprise is surely Hotel’s Bar and breakfast room, located in the attic at the top of the building. Together, with a tasty breakfast of a good selection and very good coffee you can enjoy its splendid view of the Gloriette of Schoenbrunn. With such a view and a rich breakfast, you’re well fitted for a another nice day in Vienna.
Therefore, If you are heading to Vienna and looking for a place to stay near the Schönbrunn Palace, the Hotel HB1 Design is definitely worth a visit .
